I've been having a few problems lately, but I believe there is always a solution to every problem. Sometimes it takes a while to find the solution!
The pipes on my washing machine froze up and all the water that should have gone outside came back into my kitchen. When I saw it I panicked and called for my daughter to help, a few seconds later I shouted, "Put your wellies on first!" We managed to mop everything up. I went outside and sorted out the pipes. I still don't trust the washing machine to do a full wash so I let it do 30 mins and I have a mop and bucket at the ready.
My shower is nearly at the end of its life and at the moment there is just a warm trickle coming out. We have to do a little dance to make sure we get covered in enough water. I bought a new shower and was going to install myself but then I saw all the Warnings! Dangerous! remarks in the instruction book so I decided not to. I've asked a plumber to come round to install it. He said he'd be here in a few days. I'm still waiting.
My computer was poorly and stopped working. It turned on but then didn't do anything else. I asked my daughters to help but we couldn't work out what was wrong. I had to use my youngest daughter's new computer (which I've had my eye on since she got it last month) until she got fed up of me peeping at her Facebook page. I finally found out what the problem was - thanks to Google searches. It was a security program that my (nameless) bank had advised me to download to protect against internet fraud. The program wouldn't allow me to uninstall it but I found out how to disable it. My computer is now back up to speed.
Apart from these little problems I've had a lovely Christmas with my family. We are having a chocolate feast tomorrow to celebrate New Years Eve. Then, of course, we will eat nothing but healthy food in 2011.
I've managed to work on some writing projects and I should have some news to share soon.
