Morley and Beverley Literature Festivals

I've had a busy weekend doing readings as part of literary festivals. There are a lot of them around at this time of the year.

The first one was on Saturday as part of the Morley Literature Festival. My reading was at the library. I was greeted by a little girl holding her own copy of You Can't Eat A Princess! She sat next to me on the reading sofa and allowed me to read from her book. I had made blank alien cards for the children to customize, this activity seemed to go down really well. The festival hasn't been running very long so it's great news that so many 'big names' are able to attend this year. I am going to see Barbara Taylor Bradford speak at the Town Hall next Saturday.  I must say thank you to Jenny who organised the festival this year and thank you to the lovely library staff. Of course, a big thank you to everyone who came to see me, especially my new liitle friend. I had a special assistant with me who gave out the activities and then cleared up afterwards - thank you, Shannon.

Today, I have been to Beverley to do a reading at their library. As I drove around Beverley for the third time trying to find the library, I thought what a beautiful town it is. Thank you again to the organisers and all the people who came to see me. A great part of being an author is reading my book out to children. I hope you all enjoyed the alien acivities!

My next event is a book signing at Leeds Waterstones in November. I think I now have time to get on with some writing.
